Server Architecture
All our servers run multiple processors and have hot swappable power supplies, hard drives, fans, etc. etc. We have a 99.9% uptime GUARANTEE.
Operating System
Our servers run Redhat Enterprise Linux which is an Enterprise-class OS noted for its stability and is selected for commercial use. Enterprise edition includes regular, formalised security patching and updates directly from RedHat.
Network Infrastructure
Our services run on a powerful Tier 1 network with over 100 points of presence (PoPs) across the UK, and data centres in London, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham.
The network is Tier 1 multi-layer national network based on optical fibre and microwave.
Data Centre Features
All data centres are protected by stringent security precautions to control access, environmental controls to maintain peak hardware performance and emergency power supplies to ensure that service is not affected by network power outages:
Access Controls
Data centres can only be accessed through magnetically locked doors that can only be unlocked with a special swipe card. All centres are manned 24/7, and are fully protected by CCTV.
Environmental Controls
Servers are protected against fire outbreaks using a suppressions system designed to extinguish a fire within seconds without leaving a residue.
Centres are equipped with sophisticated air conditioning systems set at 20 degrees C and 50% relative humidity to ensure systems operate as efficiently as possible.
Power
All data centres are equipped with Uninterruptible Power Supplies to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted delivery of power to all machines at all times.
In addition, every centre has backup diesel generators to keep services up and running even in the event of a major power grid failure.
